Bronze Headstone Memorial

I was privileged with the honor of crafting an addition for an incredible metal smith and dear friend of mine Keegan Bowden. Keegan had a tenacity for seeking out the most difficult metal projects and completing them with finesse. He was an achieved pipe welder, blacksmith and fabricator and it was only fitting that his memorial displays a hint of the blazing liquid metal he tamed daily.

From Scottish roots, the piece features a Celtic cross hammered out of bronze. Behind it is a mirror polish finished copper plate that stands out like fire from the contrast of the black stone. In front, a copper cutout of the blacksmith we all know, and love was dipped in a black magic patina and copper riveted together using Keegan’s hammer. This was an incredibly special project to be a part of and I love that his fire still stands out in the crowd.
